At that age our daycare preferred dry-ish things: soft idli pieces, steamed apple, a banana they mashed on the spot. The wet mash was always what came back. That was 13 years ago though, things may be different now.

Does he gulp it the moment he's home, or only when you remind him? Mine used to say the water in his steel bottle tasted funny by afternoon. Changing the bottle helped a little, not completely.

Also ask whether they let young children cycle in at all. Some schools only allow cycles from class 6 or so. Better to know before you plan.

We're in KPHB, so not too far, but my son is much older and I don't know their nursery. One thing from our own nursery hunting: go on a weekday around dismissal, not to a Saturday open house. You see the real drop-off and pickup. Thoda chaos is normal, but you'll know if it's too much for a three year old.

Our school prints the attendance percentage on every report card, even the unit test one. Check the last report she got. And keep the doctor's prescription somewhere safe, just in case.

From the State Board side: not easier, just different. More learning by heart, and more Telugu than she may be used to, depending on what her second language has been. If she's done ICSE till now, writing long answers won't be a problem for her. Also the friend won't be next to her in every class. Worth saying that to her out loud.

Our son did this at 4 after a long stay at nani's. We walked past the school a couple of times in the last week of the holidays and he bumped into his teacher once. That did more than any talk at home.

We made a deal with ours: drawings only in a small notebook of his own, never in the school ones. He filled two of them with comics that year. Teachers were fine with it and he didn't feel told off. Might work for yours.

Give the 15 yr old a small job at his bedtime, reading to him or setting his alarm. Teenagers like being the senior one. Then 'akka is awake' becomes 'akka put me to bed'.

Son did a six-week online one. He liked the teacher's comments, not the exercises. Small group helped.

Asking him to explain it is exactly what we did. Ours got embarrassed halfway through explaining, which did more than anything I could have said.
Class 9 joining is normally okay, schools are used to it. Class 10 is the one they don't like. Ask whether she'd have to change her second language. That tripped up a boy who joined my son's class late.

Blackout helped us when my son was small, long back now. But the bigger change was pushing bedtime half an hour later. Try one at a time, otherwise you won't know which worked.
