her cousin is at sri aurobindo school in kushaiguda, and now our daughter wants to move there for class 9

she spent a weekend at my sister's place near ECIL and came back sure she wants to switch. the cousin is in the ICSE section there and apparently her class is 'nicer'. that's the whole case so far. she goes into class 9 in june, and her current school wants the re-admission form back this month, so if we did this it would have to be decided now. we're in masab tank. i haven't said no yet, mostly because i don't know what i'd be saying no to. has anyone moved a child at class 9? and how bad is the commute from our side, realistically

What is the real reason, the school or the cousin? Those need different answers. If it's the cousin, she can see her on weekends without changing schools. If it's the school, what does she know about it beyond one weekend? Masab Tank to Kushaiguda on a school morning is a long ride, so the reason had better be a good one.

Class 9 joining is normally okay, schools are used to it. Class 10 is the one they don't like. Ask whether she'd have to change her second language. That tripped up a boy who joined my son's class late.

second language is a good point. a colleague's kid moved in class 9 and had to start hindi almost from scratch because the new school didn't offer what he'd been doing. took him the whole year

      Replying to @amber_spoon_412

depends on the school though. my son's class got a joiner in august last year and he kept his language. just ask them directly
