  • Not inter, but my 14 year old's day got much longer this year with coaching, and the first month was exactly this. Grunts and sleep. It eased once he had friends in his batch and the routine stopped being new. I stopped asking "how was it" and started asking about one specific thing, the canteen, one teacher, the bus, and got a bit more than "fine" :)

  • Does he get Sundays off at least? Some of these colleges have Sunday tests also.

sunday off for now. they've said tests start from july

  • My nephew did two years of this. The first few weeks he only slept. By the second month he was laughing at dinner again, complaining about teachers, the usual. Keep dinner warm and don't make him talk ❤️

  • What does his Sunday look like now? From what friends with older children tell me, the ones who cope with these schedules have one protected block a week that's entirely theirs, sport or friends, and the parents defend it when the college adds extra classes. Worth agreeing on that block now, before the July tests start.
