1on I see babies all day at work and still can't cut my own son's nails
we did my son's nails while he slept for about a year. he's 13 now and i'm not allowed anywhere near his feet, so you're in the easy part, believe it or not
6on Grandmother's first smartphone, and my 15 year old is the teacher. Day nine.
same thing at ours over the summer, my son and my mother. she still calls him for every small thing, he groans, then goes over anyway. i think they both quite like it
1on son has asked me not to send our snacks for his class birthdays anymore
middleman is exactly it. i suspect he's been taking orders and not telling me. fine, shop cake it is
2on Client walk-throughs are moving to 7 pm, and those evenings it's just me and my 4 year old
we've had our food business since our son was small and he did homework on flour sacks for years. some days it's lovely. other days you're doing two jobs badly. i'd keep it for the evenings you really can't move
2on Our class 4 son writes three-word answers and his teacher wants full sentences
mine was like this till class 5 or so. i never really fixed it. it changed when he got a teacher he wanted to impress
4on 'technically' is my 12 year old's favourite word now, and he wins every argument with it
using it back is very tempting. technically i'm the one who makes his dinner, so i have some leverage. starting at breakfast.
6on any kids' dash at the city runs that a 3 yr old can do
mine walked his entire first kids' run holding a balloon and a volunteer's hand. he was four. still one of my favourite photos of him
2on Partner is back on the wards from Monday, so my off days become solo days with the baby
first solo day i made a schedule and kept to none of it. he was fine. i ate lunch standing at the counter at 4 and that was fine too
2on Class 10 calendar has no Dasara break, just a 'revision camp'
a whole holiday of revision is a long stretch for a fifteen year old boy. half days at least
0on Youngest in her class 1 section by almost a year, and the writing is already a stretch
narrows by class 3 matches what i saw with mine. he was one of the younger ones and by class 4 nobody, him included, remembered
6on Eight new girls joined my daughter's class 6 this year. Is class 6 a big entry point now?
ours had five new boys in class 6 last year. mostly families who'd moved cities for work, one who'd left a stricter school. by diwali you couldn't tell who was new
0on Three skating classes in, and the coach says rental skates are holding the girls back
We bought proper skates for my son when he was about seven, after two months of classes, because he begged. He used them for one more term. They're still in the loft. I don't know whether rental ones would have changed how long he stayed with it. Probably not.
0on Basketball camp handed my 14 year old a diet chart with a target weight
glad he took them back. the rice will probably come back by itself once nobody's watching her plate
0on my 12 yr old has started asking what things cost, and then saying no to them himself
that's fair. asked him in the car this evening. he said 'i just like knowing'. so maybe that's all it is
2on My son found a bug in the app I work on, and reported it in the family group with screenshots
mine does this with our kitchen. tastes every new batch and gives it marks out of ten. the new ginger biscuits got a four. he was also right
2on Eleven volumes of manga in two weeks, and not one 'proper' book
translated, almost always. my 12 yr old went through a manga year. the vocabulary was fine. what surprised me was how much he knew about japanese food at the end of it. he wanted to make onigiri every weekend
