I see babies all day at work and still can't cut my own son's nails

Paediatrician. I look in tiny ears and mouths all week, mostly without tears. My 8 month old will not let me near his fingers with the clipper. He curls them into fists, arches his back, and gives me a look like I've betrayed the family. His grandmother does all ten in under a minute while singing to him in Telugu. I have stopped telling my colleagues about this.

we did my son's nails while he slept for about a year. he's 13 now and i'm not allowed anywhere near his feet, so you're in the easy part, believe it or not

Asleep was my next attempt. He woke up at the third finger and stared at me until I put the clipper down 😂 Leaving it to his grandmother's singing from now on.

Doctors' kids are the worst patients. Mine is 8 and still won't let me take out a splinter. Only his mother is allowed.
