eggshells in the bin at 7 am. my 12 yr old has been cooking after we go to bed

we run a food business so the kitchen is never really off. but this is new. three mornings now, a washed pan on the rack, eggshells in the bin, and a son who's very calm about it. he says he gets hungry around 11. he's careful with the gas, i checked. i don't mind the eggs, i mind not knowing he's up. haven't worked out what to say to him yet

mine does the same but with bread and peanut butter at 11.30, no stove so I let it go. with the stove I'd want to know too. maybe make it allowed but with rules, he tells you, door open, gas knob checked after. they grow so much at this age and dinner at 8 isn't lasting. a bigger evening snack fixed most of it for us
