Partner is back on the wards from Monday, so my off days become solo days with the baby

violet_sandal_1133

My partner's leave ends this week, and with our two rosters the way they are, I'll have the baby on my own two or three weekdays from now on. I've done plenty of evenings and the odd morning. A full day alone, feeds, bath, naps, getting both of us out of the house, is new. What does your solo day look like with a baby this small? And what went wrong on your first one that I can avoid? ❤️

i'll be in the same spot soon, so i'm mostly here for the answers. my only finding so far is that the bath needs two hands and you have one

Get out of the house once a day. Even the building gate counts. I did that with my son and it kept me human.

Keep one notebook where both of you write down feeds, naps and nappies. On roster days you will pass each other at the door, and it saves a lot of questions. Ours stayed on the fridge for months.
