Elder one wants A levels after class 10. Is VIP's International School in Malakpet worth a look for that?

1on Which baby purchases did you regret making before the birth?
At 2 am what you need is nappies, a thermometer and one of you awake. Everything else can wait till a shop is open. Ma intlo also same fight happened, sixteen years ago. Rocking chair was used for keeping clothes only 😊
2on Same school, one year apart, and a teacher keeps comparing my younger one to her akka
Asked her again just now. She says it's only that one teacher and only when she gets something wrong. Somehow that feels worse. Maybe I'll raise it at the PTM in a general way, without saying she told me.
0on Same school, one year apart, and a teacher keeps comparing my younger one to her akka
That's the catch. She has already said 'nanna, don't come to school for this'. So I'm a bit stuck 😊
6on Flat spot on the back of our 3 month old's head
Our elder one had exactly this, right side also 🙂 We moved the cot so the window was on the other side and she started turning that way on her own. By the time her hair came in properly nobody could tell. She's 15 now with a perfectly round head and very strong opinions. Her ammamma's tip was to talk to her from the flat side, and that helped too.
0on class 9 son explains every maths answer perfectly. the chatbot explained it first
Ma pedda ammayi does the same for physics. We made one rule, phone stays in the hall during homework, she can use it after for checking. Konchem fights the first week, now it's ok.
2on Daughter loves biology but doesn't want to be a doctor. Is BiPC still the right group?
Elder daughter's in class 11 CBSE with PCB and no medicine plans, for the same reason, biology is the subject she enjoys. She's looking at biotech, microbiology, psychology, even nutrition. The school did push the NEET track in the first week. She said no, and nobody bothered after that 🙂
6on Our class 4 son writes three-word answers and his teacher wants full sentences
My younger one was exactly like this. We used a silly rule: the answer has to carry the question's words, like a game. 'Plants need sunlight because...' She hated it for two weeks, then it became automatic. No class needed, but someone does have to sit with them for a while 🙂
2on back at work with a 3 month old and lunch is whatever is in the office drawer
When our elder one was small my partner carried a steel dabba of dry fruit laddus my mother-in-law made, one every couple of hours, even in meetings. Nobody asked, everybody wanted one 🙂 Also curd rice packed the night before. It was still fine by lunch and you can finish it in five minutes.
0on 11 yr old wants to drop saturday tennis because it's the only morning he can sleep in
+1 on asking for a later batch. Our elder one had the same Saturday complaint about badminton, moved to the 9.30 batch and the fight just stopped. The younger one quit hers altogether and never asked to go back, so even in one house it can go either way. Sometimes the kid is tired and sometimes the kid is done, and it takes a few weeks to tell which 🙂
Had this very conversation with her last night. The economics courses she likes want maths, so now she's 'reconsidering economics' instead of reconsidering maths. Teenagers. I've written to VIP's asking for a visit slot, let's see.
Good point, I hadn't considered that a batch might not run at all. Will call them on Monday. Didn't expect anyone else to be up at this hour.
1on Club form asked for three choices. My 12 year old wrote 'any' three times
Gardening club becoming the favourite is so common. Our chinnadi got put in the quiz club by default and stayed four years. Sometimes 'any' works out fine.
6on class 12 daughter wants to study agriculture. half the family thinks it's a joke
Our elder one's friend wants the same and her nanna has stopped arguing. We're two years away from all this and I'm reading every word here.
0on 15 yr old saw a poster for a sailing course on hussain sagar. anyone's teen done one in the monsoon
elder one's classmate did a sailing camp last year, came back sunburnt and very happy. will ask her amma who ran it 🙂
1on son spent the summer editing videos for his cousin and now says that's his career
Ha, mine was cooking videos. Akka still makes them, but only for the family group now. The editing skill stayed though, she does all the school presentations for her friends 😊
1on Son wants a polytechnic diploma after class 10 instead of inter. He's 14
Our elder one starts class 10 this June as well, and every month it's a new plan :) What helped was letting her talk to her babai, who did exactly the diploma-then-degree route. One honest hour with someone who has done it beat weeks of our googling.
1on Akka wants to be a lawyer at 14. Commerce or humanities after class 10, or does it not matter?
That's a relief. She'll be disappointed there's no special subject to pick, she was hoping for a reason to drop chemistry 😄
1on One month old and he owns more clothes than I do. Half of them fit a two year old
Our elder one got so many frocks at her naming ceremony that the younger one wore half of them two years later. Ammamma still points them out in the photos.
