My partner wants everything bought and set up before the baby arrives. I would rather get the basics and wait to see what we actually use. We are not arguing, exactly, but every weekend there is a new list. I'd like real examples to bring back to the discussion. What did you buy early that you never used, or bought in the wrong size? And what were you glad you already had at home on the first night?
with our first we bought a fancy bouncer and a whole set of newborn clothes. bouncer used maybe twice, she outgrew the clothes in three weeks. this time we're getting almost nothing until we see what this baby likes
That's my argument exactly. Her answer is 'and what if we need it at 2 am?'

At 2 am what you need is nappies, a thermometer and one of you awake. Everything else can wait till a shop is open. Ma intlo also same fight happened, sixteen years ago. Rocking chair was used for keeping clothes only 😊
