Daughter loves biology but doesn't want to be a doctor. Is BiPC still the right group?

The Inter group decision is coming up for my daughter after class 10. Biology is the one subject she reads without being told, but she has said many times that she doesn't want MBBS, and she doesn't want to spend two years in a medical coaching batch to find that out again. Most colleges around us treat BiPC as the doctor stream. The other options people mention are MPC to keep engineering open, which she isn't interested in, or MEC, which drops biology completely. Her brother went MPC without any discussion, so this is new for us. For those whose children took BiPC without medicine in mind, what did they go on to do? And did the college push them towards NEET coaching anyway?

Elder daughter's in class 11 CBSE with PCB and no medicine plans, for the same reason, biology is the subject she enjoys. She's looking at biotech, microbiology, psychology, even nutrition. The school did push the NEET track in the first week. She said no, and nobody bothered after that 🙂

Mine did biology in 11 and 12 with no medical plans either, in Mumbai, and went on to a BSc in life sciences. She's in her first job now and nowhere near a hospital. The pressure from relatives was worse than anything from the college. Everyone assumed she'd failed NEET.

One thing to check: some junior colleges run BiPC as a NEET programme with long coaching hours built into the day. Ask the college what a BiPC student who isn't writing NEET does during those hours. If they have no answer, that's your answer.

That's the question I needed. Two colleges near us seem to have only one BiPC section and it's the coaching one. I'll ask them that and see what they say.
