Every grade on her class 1 report is an A except 'listening skills'. What is that measuring?

1on Five sentences about her aaji for class 2 homework, and sentence four was about me
Nothing. Only sentence four. I've decided to read it as concern for my health.
6on baby proofing a rented flat at 8 months. what did you actually need
From memory, so take it with that caveat: the corner guards came off within a week. What really mattered was moving things higher and a gate at the kitchen door. Socket covers were useful. Most of the rest we never used.
1on Class 6 son can't keep track of which notebook goes to which teacher
My daughter is younger, so I can't speak from experience about class 6. I'm only guessing here, but colour-coding the covers by subject might help, if he is a visual child. Did the school suggest anything at the start of the year? Some teachers have their own systems they would rather parents followed.
1on My son interviewed me for a class project on careers. I got 3 out of 5 for 'answers too long'
I am taking notes. Mine is 6 and already stops listening after my second sentence, so I suspect my own score would be lower than both of yours.
1on Covered her ears through the whole Independence Day programme at preschool. Ear muffs at three?
Did the teacher mention it as something she sees in class generally, or only at the programme? A microphone and speakers at a school function are far louder than a normal day, and many children cover their ears for that alone. If it is also the dryers and the drill, that pattern seems worth mentioning to your paediatrician, simply so that someone who has examined her can say whether anything needs checking. I would not draw conclusions from one programme.
0on Class 8 elective form wants AI, financial literacy or design thinking by Friday
I can only offer an assumption here, not experience; my daughter is in class 2 and I am awake because I'm on call. My guess is that an introductory AI period at that level will be mostly vocabulary and a few demonstrations. A structured hour on budgeting and interest at 13 seems more likely to be used later. I would ask the school for one sample lesson plan from each before deciding.
1on Trial classes for my younger one. What do you look for besides 'she had fun'?
Three things we asked for our daughter's dance class last year: how many children per instructor in a regular batch, whether the same instructor takes the batch all term, and what happens if a child misses a few sessions through illness. The last one told us a lot. One place offered make-up classes in another batch; another said the fee is for the month regardless. I can only speak for dance and one skating enquiry. I assume gymnastics has its own safety questions, mats and spotting and so on, but I haven't been through that myself.
1on Club form asked for three choices. My 12 year old wrote 'any' three times
Is the club graded or mentioned on the report card? If it's an ungraded hour a week, I'd let her see where she lands. If it's assessed, I'd ask her to choose.
0on paid the daycare late fee four times in july
Is the delay mostly on the work side or on the road? If meetings run over, that is one conversation with your team. If it is the drive, the fix is leaving earlier regardless of the meetings, which is a different conversation.
1on Class 7 science teacher told them to ask for evidence. My daughter started with her paati
In fairness to your daughter, that is a good question to be asking at twelve. The harder lesson is that asking it of a grandmother on a Sunday call has social costs. Hopefully the teacher gets to that part as well.
0on Van late four times since the rains, and each time she's marked late at school
Thank you, that is the distinction I was looking for. I'm on call tonight, so I've only just seen this. I'll write to the class teacher in the morning with the dates and ask how they handle a whole van arriving late, rather than asking for her marks to be removed.
2on the drive to her 7 am tuition used to be when we talked
I can only speak as someone who was that sleeping teenager, not as a parent of one yet. My father did that drive for two years. I don't remember a single conversation from those mornings, but I do remember that he never turned the radio on, and that I noticed. It may be doing more than you think.
0on where do you buy a proper globe for a 9 yr old around kokapet or gachibowli
Before buying, decide whether you want political (countries and borders) or physical (mountains, oceans). Most shop globes are political, which is fine for news questions. Check the year printed near the base; some stock sits for years and the borders show it. We have not bought one ourselves, so this is from a colleague who returned two.
4on Class 8 orientation next week. Son says parents 'don't go to those anymore'
Is this his message or the school's? If the circular is addressed to parents, I'd go and not make an event of it.
1on Sikh Education Soc Gurunanak School in Malakpet for a class 6 joiner coming from IB?
Is the board change already decided, or are you comparing across boards? I ask because the questions differ. If it's State Board specifically, second language at class 6 is often the hard part for a joiner. If you're open, it may be worth listing a CBSE school in the same area to compare against.
0on 11 yr old wants a proper football coach. Apparently I don't count
I play on Sundays and have been looking at girls' batches for my daughter, who is younger. From what I have seen, they exist, but when numbers are low on a given evening, the girls get merged into the boys' group. Ask how many girls actually turned up last week, not how many enrolled.
1on Our daughter has opened a restaurant in the hall. Aaji does all the cooking
Update from the restaurant: it now has a complaints box. The first complaint, from aaji, says the waiter eats the profits.
0on He's one, he walks, and now he can get onto the dining table in about five seconds
How long did feet first take to stick? Our daughter understood it on the sofa at that age but not on anything taller, and the sofa was the only place she ever practised.
3on how do quieter children get on at marvel high school in gandipet? thinking about a later move
No experience with this school or with older kids. Our daughter is six and quiet, and what has helped her most so far is one teacher who gave her a small job each day. That seems to come down to the teacher, whichever school it is.
1on Partner and I work opposite shifts most weeks, and our 3 year old now has two sets of rules
We have something similar, with my mother at home as well, so three adults. I would separate the rules that affect sleep and health from the ones that are only habits. We agreed only on the first group. I can't say that is right in general, but it stopped the arguments between the adults, and I think that mattered more to our daughter than the rules themselves.
0on Sat through a full morning of sessions with a pink butterfly clip in my hair
In fairness to your patients, I think most people assume there is a story behind anything that unusual and decide it isn't their business. I would have assumed a child was involved. I would also have been a little reassured.
