daycare closes at 7. meetings finish at 6.15 on paper. habsiguda traffic does the rest. partner travels half the month so it's mostly me. not looking for sympathy, looking for what works. how do you build in buffer when your calendar isn't yours
We were in the same spot last year. What ended it was each of us taking two fixed pickup days and blocking everything after 5.30 on those days, visible to everyone. It's rigid, and I've missed a couple of meetings I'd have liked to be in, but the late fees stopped.
Is the delay mostly on the work side or on the road? If meetings run over, that is one conversation with your team. If it is the drive, the fix is leaving earlier regardless of the meetings, which is a different conversation.

Small thing, but check how your daycare counts it. Ours had a 10 minute grace period that only came up when I complained about a fee. Nobody had mentioned it at admission.
In our time, grandparents were the late fee. Now I do my grandson's pickup twice a week. If there is family in the city, ask them. They may be waiting to be asked.
I have a medical shop, closing time depends on customers, some days 10 pm. My mother does the school pickup for my two. Without her I don't know what I would do. Only advice I have, find one person you trust who lives near the daycare.
