how do quieter children get on at marvel high school in gandipet? thinking about a later move

moss_paper_2356

our daughter moves up to class 6 in june. she's very quiet at school, the kind of child teachers forget to ask. her current school is big and there are 45 in her class. we're not moving her this june, but for class 7 or 8 we'd like somewhere smaller, and marvel high school in gandipet is close enough. if your children are there, or you know families who are, does a quiet child get noticed?

I don't know this school, but when we looked for something smaller for our daughter, the most useful question was how many sections each class has and how often the class teacher changes. One section per class meant the same 25 children for years, which suited her.

Our daughter was quiet at 10 as well. We moved her to a smaller school at 12. She did get noticed more, but she also had nowhere to hide on the days she wanted to, and the first year was harder than we expected. By class 9 she was fine. I'd do it again, but I wouldn't promise her it'll be easier straight away.

thank you, that's honest. 'nowhere to hide' is exactly what she'd worry about in a small class.

talked to her last night without naming any school. she said she'd rather be noticed by one teacher than by the whole class. which is a very her answer.

      Replying to @moss_paper_2356

That's a good sign. Ours couldn't put it into words at that age.

We live nearby and pass it often. Never been inside. If you go, go on a working day, not an open day. You'll see more.

Ask what a normal week looks like for a child who never volunteers. Who reads aloud, who goes up for events, is it always the same few hands? Every school says it notices every child.

No experience with this school or with older kids. Our daughter is six and quiet, and what has helped her most so far is one teacher who gave her a small job each day. That seems to come down to the teacher, whichever school it is.
