Ma ammayi had this in grade 8 too. Her school asks each kid to write a short note at the end on who did what, so the teacher mostly knows already. Maybe check if your son's school does something like that? Then he doesn't have to tell on anyone 🙂

I interview freshers sometimes in my team. Honestly the company name on the first job matters less than people think. What we look at is what they built in their first year or two. A services job with real project work is fine. But if he's set on product companies, waiting is also not crazy, na. Depends on how strong his interview prep is and how he'll feel if the later companies don't come.

My elder had a friend like this in class 5 and I said a lot, most of it wrong 🙂 What worked later was asking about what they did together rather than about the girl. Most of it was harmless. The bits that weren't, she told me herself once she stopped feeling she had to defend her.

It is temporary 🙂 Ours is two and copies her akka in everything, including what she won't eat. Akka says 'chee' to beans, chinnadi says 'chee' to beans, and she was eating them happily last week. What works a little is feeding the small one first, before akka sits down and gives her opinion.

Reading this with great interest, my eldest is a few years away and already allergic to the word coaching. One thing a colleague did with her son: he dropped the weekday batches but kept only the weekend test series for a term. They got actual data instead of arguments 🙂

The fan on one speed is a good detail. With my younger one the distraction was her big sister giving a running commentary from the doorway. We ended up giving the older one a job during feeds, reading aloud to both of them, and that worked better than shooing her out.

My elder one had a Japan phase last year, after a lot of anime. We didn't push a class, we just asked her to keep the streak going through the school term, which in our house is the real test 🙂 She dropped it by November. If your son is still at it by the half-yearlies, a proper class makes sense. Either way the language won't go to waste.

Class 4 is not a bad year to switch. Kids that age seem to get used to new books faster than to a new set of friends, at least going by the new children who joined my older one's class. If the parents do a school visit, take him along so the place isn't a total stranger in June.

We did exactly this. Pedda ammayi got the guest room last year, and when ammamma and thatha come she moves in with the little one for those weeks. She grumbles, but she agreed to it before she got the room. That was the key. Make the deal before the move 😊

We're in Vanasthalipuram, so not your side. We tried an agency for our little one last year, and the people they sent were fine but different every time, which upset her more than me being away. In the end our regular akka's cousin started doing the odd night. Worth asking your caregiver if she knows someone 🙂

For my chinni's vaccines I took a small notebook every time and asked the nurse outside to write the dose and the next date also. The nurses are less rushed than the doctor and very patient. Don't feel shy, you are the mother, you have every right to understand.

Ayyo, by lunch itself? Ours is only in grade 8, but after one inter-school sports meet I got calls from an 'academy' that knew her full name. A lot of it is class WhatsApp groups forwarding everything everywhere 🙂 Doesn't make it okay, but it may not be one single leak.
