What labels survive daycare washing? Marker fades in two washes

rose_moon_5722

Daycare wants everything named: bottles, lids, spare clothes, the bag, the sheet. I've been writing her name with a laundry marker. It faded on the clothes after two washes and came off the bottle completely after one round of sterilising. What are you using that lasts? Iron-on, stickers, something sewn in? I'd rather do this properly once than every Sunday.

The playschool our younger one goes to gave up on labels and gave each child a colour. Hers is green, so everything is green, bottle, lid, tiffin, even the spare chaddis. One shopping trip and the teachers love it 😊

Works until another child is also green. Then you're back to labels. We had two kids with the identical bottle in one class.

Iron-on labels for clothes. For bottles, the stickers sold as dishwasher safe last a month or two, not forever. Nothing survives steam for long. I just rewrite on the base of the bottle every few weeks.
