Helping my 13 year old ask St. Stephens High School in Falaknuma about reading sessions for her project

cinnamon_sandal_7899

Our elder one's school wants each student to do a community project next term, and she and her friend have settled on reading sessions with younger kids. Her friend's family lives near Falaknuma, so they've picked St. Stephens High School there. Without asking anyone, of course :) I'd like to help them approach it properly. Do schools like this even take requests from outside students? Who should they write to, and what should the letter say so it doesn't sound like two 13 year olds chasing a certificate?

A short letter to the principal from your daughter's school, not only from the girls, will carry much more weight. It should say what they will do, for how many weeks, with which class, and that a teacher or parent will be present. I would also offer a small, fixed slot, for example one library period a week for six weeks, rather than an open offer. Would her project coordinator be willing to make the first phone call?
