My daughter is only one, so we're a long way from this, but I'll be asking the same questions eventually. Did you ask whether they keep an authorised pickup list, and what happens if someone not on it turns up at the stop? How they answer that would tell me how carefully the rest is handled.
1on Three class 6 open houses, all on weekday mornings
We had a much smaller version of this with daycare visits a few months back. All three wanted 11 am on a weekday. We asked one of them if we could come at drop-off time instead, and that turned out to be the most useful visit of the lot.
6on Daycare is offering parents a live CCTV feed of the baby room. Do I want it?
Our daycare has had one since before we joined. I look at lunch most days, and I have learnt that ten seconds of video without sound can look far worse than it is. A baby crying alone in a corner, and then a teacher walks into the frame. Did you find you trusted your caregiver more after the boring phase, or did you simply stop looking?
1on Greenwood School in Bowenpally for nursery, a couple of years from now
Did they say whether nursery is a half day? That's the part I'm trying to plan around as well. If it ends at noon, daycare would still need to cover our afternoons.
0on How do we bring up daycare for our toddler when family lives with us and looks after her?
Ours started daycare at 9 months. For the first two weeks it was only two hours a day, and someone from home could stay for the first few days. Does your daycare allow that? It could be a nice way to involve your family member in the settling in.
0on Are there any ICSE schools on the Vanasthalipuram side, or is it CBSE everywhere?
Same timeline at our end, with a daughter under one. I have started to wonder whether anyone really chooses a board at the nursery stage, or whether it is distance first and board second for most families. It would help to hear from someone who chose the far school and kept it.
This is reassuring in a strange way. My mother brought up honey the week our daughter was born, and our paediatrician's answer was a very firm no. Good to know even doctors went along with the elders back then.
1on He'll only walk if I hold one finger, so I spend every evening bent double doing laps of the flat
Our daughter isn't walking yet, so I'm reading for later. One thing her daycare uses with the older babies is a low, weighted push cart they can lean on. The teachers say the ones who walk only with a hand let go sooner on the cart, because they're steering it themselves. Does your daycare have one you could watch him with, before buying?
1on looking at flats near bowenpally. what's the nursery age at shri bherulal ranka s s jain school?
We're at a similar stage, ours is under a year and in daycare, and I've started a list too. One thing I would add: ask whether they take children mid-year. If the flat move happens after June, that may matter more than the exact age cut-off.
4on Daycare wants her on fixed nap times before she joins. She naps whenever she likes
That made me laugh, thank you. It does feel like a test we're failing in advance.
4on Every visitor says our 2 month old looks thin. His weight is fine
With our daughter it was 'so small'. What worked was one stock line that everyone in the house used: 'The doctor is happy with her.' Nobody argues with that. In your case it would be slightly funny, but it still works.
