If nobody is at the bus stop, where does a 4 year old go? Asking about Ravindra Bharathi in Karmanghat

We're thinking about renting on the Karmanghat side from next year, and Ravindra Bharathi School there is on our list for our son, who will be 5 by then. Our daughter (10) has always been driven to school, so buses are new to us. The question I can't get a straight answer to is the missed-pickup case. If the bus reaches the stop and nobody is there, what happens? Does the child go back to school, stay on for the rest of the route, or does the attendant call someone and wait? And if the bus is running late, who tells whom? I'm interested in the actual routine from parents who use the buses, not the brochure version.

My daughter is only one, so we're a long way from this, but I'll be asking the same questions eventually. Did you ask whether they keep an authorised pickup list, and what happens if someone not on it turns up at the stop? How they answer that would tell me how carefully the rest is handled.

Not yet. The office said "the attendant will call you", which is exactly the answer I was trying to get past. I'll ask for the written procedure when we visit, including the collection list.

At my daughter's school (a different one) the rule is that the child goes back to school and you collect from the office, and there's a late-pickup register. It's annoying the one time it happens, but I preferred knowing the rule in advance. Also ask whether the attendant has their own phone, not just the driver's.

going back to school is the best version. the worst is the bus that 'waits a bit' and then the whole route is late

One more thing to check is how they inform parents about route changes. Our stop changed twice in one term and both times I found out from another parent, not from the school.

Same with my sister's van. We now check with the driver every Monday morning. It shouldn't be necessary, but it works.
