Daycare wants to move our non-walker up to the toddler room next month

fern_sketch_1447

Our daughter has been in the infant room since she started. The daycare says she is old enough to move to the toddler room next month, and that they move children by age. She crawls fast and pulls up on everything, but isn't walking. The toddler room has children up to two and a half, and I picture her being stepped on. Is moving by age normal, and should we ask them to wait until she walks?

Could you ask to spend half an hour in the toddler room on a normal morning before the move? We wanted to see how many staff were actually on the floor and whether there was a separate mat area for the ones not walking yet. Seeing it settled most of our worries.
