Happy at daycare drop-off, cries when I come to collect her
My daughter is 13 months old and has been at daycare since August. Drop-off is easy now. She waves, goes to her caretaker and doesn't look back. Pickup is the problem. When I walk in she turns away, holds on to whatever toy she has and cries when I lift her. The staff say she has a good day and that this is common. I believe them. But on release days I reach there after 7 and I'm tired, and fifteen minutes of crying in the car makes the whole evening harder. For those who went through this: did a particular way of doing pickup help, like waiting at the door, giving a warning, letting her finish what she's doing? Or did it just stop on its own?
