Only one child here so nothing first-hand, but my daughter's tuition has a brother-sister pair. From what she says the younger one barely speaks in class 🤷

A neighbour's son here in Gachibowli moved there from ICSE in class 7. He told me the Hindi was the hardest part, the rest he managed. Worth checking which second language your son would take.

Ours is 11 and the grandmother part sounds very familiar 🤷♀️ Did you try a knock-first rule with her grandmother before the latch? Took about a month to stick in our house, with reminders.

Ask them for the full chart. Ours went A to Z, and the teacher was happy to show where class 3 children usually are. It just never got printed on the sheet.

One detail, yes. They walk home together, all four cousins, with a neighbour's older boy. She is driven both ways.

Her grandmother did ours, years ago. The teacher didn't mind who it was, only that it was the SAME person every day that week, because a new face each day undoes the whole thing. That was one school, but it made sense to me.

A girl in my daughter's class had skipped a year. Fine in studies, but she was always 'the little one', more so once the others got to 11 or 12 🤷 I'd look for ways to stretch her within class 3 first.

That's exactly how it feels sometimes, like her liking tests is something to cure. She'll be pleased to hear this. We'll go and see both sides in the holidays.
