Our daughter likes exams. Would the IB side or the CBSE side at Oakridge Gachibowli suit her better?

Looking at options for class 7, a year from now. Oakridge in Gachibowli runs both, and everyone we ask says IB is 'better for kids like her'. Thing is, she really likes tests. Marks, the build-up, the whole thing. She prepares for a weekly test like it's a cricket match. Anyone with children on either side: does the IB side have enough of that test feeling for a child like this? Or would she simply be happier staying with CBSE? 🤷

not oakridge, but a friend's daughter moved to ib at about that age and spent the first term asking when the 'real exam' was. there are assessments, just not the kind she was used to. i'd figure out whether yours likes the marks or the competition. those are two different kids

My granddaughter is only in class 1, so I can't speak to either side there. But a small correction to 'IB is better for kids like her'. In my own family we had one child who needed marks to feel steady and one who didn't care either way, and the one who loved tests did very well because of them. Liking exams isn't a problem that needs fixing 😄

That's exactly how it feels sometimes, like her liking tests is something to cure. She'll be pleased to hear this. We'll go and see both sides in the holidays.
