After a summer with her cousins, my daughter wants to move to Destiny High School in Falaknuma

Her cousins study there and she spent most of the summer holidays at their place. Now every second sentence starts with "At Destiny they...". We live in Gachibowli. I'm not moving her across the city and I've told her so. But I'd like to talk to her with some real idea of their school day, instead of just saying "it's far". If your child is in the middle classes there, what's an ordinary week like? Timings, homework, clubs, anything. She's in class 6.

Ha, the cousins' school is always better. Our daughter spent a whole year wanting to study in Kolkata with her mashi's girls. It was never about the school. It faded once she had her own gang again the next year.

no idea about the school itself. but if she pushes, do the school run once with her, gachibowli to falaknuma at 7.15 on a weekday. our boys stopped mentioning a far-off school after one drive in bonalu week traffic

That may be the most effective argument anyone has offered. She hates being in the car for more than twenty minutes.

ask her what exactly she'd have there that she doesn't have now. nine times out of ten the answer is a person, not a timetable

Did the cousins mention something specific? My son fixates on one detail every time he compares schools.

One detail, yes. They walk home together, all four cousins, with a neighbour's older boy. She is driven both ways.

We're in Bandlaguda Jagir, not far from Falaknuma, and families around us use quite a few different schools on that side, so I can't speak for Destiny. But your reply about walking home says a lot. It may be the walk with her cousins she wants, more than the school.
