1on School worksheet asked what her father does in the morning. My 9 year old wrote "He leaves."
Next month's PTM for you, and here I was thinking we had years before anything got written down. Mine is 1 and her only report so far is 'nanna gone' at the door every morning ❤️
4on Vashishta the School runs both CBSE and ICSE. How did you choose which side for class 1?
We'll be in the same place in a few years, our daughter is only one. Friends with older kids have told me the choice felt huge at class 1 and much less so a few years in, but I'll be curious what people who've done it say ❤️
2on He naps on the 15 minute drive home from daycare and then he's awake till 11
Our daughter has started the same thing in the last few weeks. Two things have helped a little. On two days I pick her up 20 minutes earlier so she naps at daycare instead, and on the other days I sing very badly at every signal. Not elegant, but she mostly stays awake. Hope the late calls get a bit easier ❤
0on My school day starts at 7.30, so I'm up at 5. Now my toddler is too
Does he go back to sleep if your partner goes in to him? Or is it you specifically he's waking for? Asking because we'll be at this stage soon ❤️
0on Covered cricket nets around Kompally for an 11 year old, now that the rain cancels everything
Makes sense. At our factory the workers rigged a net under the loading shed for Sunday games, purely because of the rain. If a place has a proper covered lane, that's the one you want 🙂
0on What time does the primary day end at Indian Academy High School, Nallakunta?
Nobody of ours there, our daughter is under one, but my parents live near Nallakunta and the traffic on that stretch at school closing time is worth factoring in. Might be worth driving past around 3 one afternoon.
0on Leaving early for a school thing. Do you tell your team the real reason?
I've started writing 'daughter's doctor visit' or 'daycare meeting' in the calendar, on purpose. I'm the one who handles these at home, and I'd like the younger dads on my team to see it's fine to say so. Nobody has treated me differently for it, that I've noticed.
3on Found a café near Nizampet with a clean changing table. We've been back three times this week
Which road is it on? We're in Hafeezpet and our little one is still at the stage where this matters. Would love one place to go that isn't a mall.
6on 5 year old wants to 'work' at our shop every Saturday
I grew up in my father's factory office on Saturdays and some of my happiest memories are from there. Sorting invoices into piles, being sent to fetch tea. What made it good was that I had one small real job and he expected me to do it properly. If she has a job that's properly hers, the attention matters less. Let her keep coming ❤️
0on the kids in our building have decided my flat is the snack stop
The 'good biscuits' request made my day. Ours is still a baby, so this is years off for us, but I hope there's someone like you in our building when she's that age ❤️ Maybe keep a jug of water and some cups by the door in the evenings, so you're not opening up every five minutes?
