School worksheet asked what her father does in the morning. My 9 year old wrote "He leaves."

It was a 'My Family' sheet for EVS. The questions were things like what does your mother cook, what does your father do in the morning. On my theatre days I'm out of the house before she wakes up, so I suppose she isn't wrong. Her teacher put a smiley face next to it. I'd have preferred a question mark.

When our son was about that age he described my job as 'talks on the phone in the car'. He's 20 now and I'm not sure his description has improved much.

At least it's accurate. My son told his class I 'fix computers that are not broken'. I test software, so it's closer to the truth than I'd like.

mine wrote 'mama sleeps with the phone' because of my on call weeks. teacher asked me about it at the PTM 🤷 had to explain what on call is to a very polite but worried woman

One of my boys told his class teacher that his mother 'puts people to sleep for money'. I'm an anaesthetist. That took some explaining at the next meeting.

The PTM follow-up is the part I hadn't thought of. Ours is next month and now I'm wondering what else has gone on paper this term.

      Replying to @hazel_river_3974

Next month's PTM for you, and here I was thinking we had years before anything got written down. Mine is 1 and her only report so far is 'nanna gone' at the door every morning ❤️

My son was asked to draw his mother at work and drew me asleep at my desk under a pile of answer scripts. It was exam season. He was not wrong either.
