Covered cricket nets around Kompally for an 11 year old, now that the rain cancels everything

mellow_kite_4693

My elder son plays at a ground near us on weekday evenings, and since early July it has been called off more often than not. He is restless, his coach says he is losing rhythm, and I am losing patience with cricket in the corridor. Is there anywhere around Kompally, Suchitra or Bowenpally with covered nets or an indoor setup that takes children for an hour or two? It doesn't need to be an academy. A net and a bowling machine would do.

Nagole side, so I can't help with the place, sorry. But does he need a coach there or just practice time? Box cricket turfs near us rent by the hour and some have a net roof. Not perfect in heavy rain, still better than the corridor ❤️

Same problem for my son, he is also 11. The academies we checked on Bowenpally side do fitness in a hall when it rains, no batting. Box cricket roof is ok only for light rain, the floor becomes slippery. We are going early morning now when rain is less. Not ideal but he gets some balls to face.

My partner plays box cricket on weekends at a turf with a roof net. From what I've seen, it keeps out light rain, but the sides are open, so in a proper shower everyone stops anyway. I would ask whether a place has a covered practice lane rather than a covered pitch.

Saving this for later. Do any of these places take girls? My 3 year old swings a bat at everything in the house and I'd like to know what's around by the time she's old enough.

Bowenpally here. The school grounds that run coaching near us mostly cancel in rain too. There's an indoor sports place off the main road towards Suchitra where I've seen kids walking in with cricket kits. Never been inside, so no idea if they have nets. Worth a call though.

uppal side there's a turf that runs kids' batches early morning before the office crowd. no idea about kompally. mornings might be your answer this season anyway, less rain

Bowling machine is the thing to ask about. Places that have one usually have a covered lane for it, because they can't leave the machine out in the rain. That's how I'd filter when calling around

Makes sense. At our factory the workers rigged a net under the loading shed for Sunday games, purely because of the rain. If a place has a proper covered lane, that's the one you want 🙂

and check the floor under the shed. concrete with a mat is fine, bare tiles get dangerous once they're damp
