5 year old wants to 'work' at our shop every Saturday

We have a family retail store, and since the holidays started our daughter has been coming along on Saturdays. She sits at the billing counter, stamps the bags, folds the paper and tells customers "thank you, come again". The staff adore her. A couple of regulars ask for her now. Now she has asked if this can be every Saturday, for good. Part of me loves it. Part of me thinks she is getting a lot of attention for very little, and the staff can't say no to her. Did anyone grow up like this, or let their kids?

Which part worries you most? Her being in the way of the staff, the attention going to her head, or something about safety in the store? Those have quite different answers. If it's the first, an hour with a fixed job is very different from the whole day.

I grew up in my father's factory office on Saturdays and some of my happiest memories are from there. Sorting invoices into piles, being sent to fetch tea. What made it good was that I had one small real job and he expected me to do it properly. If she has a job that's properly hers, the attention matters less. Let her keep coming ❤️
