2on 2 year old eats palak dal at daycare and refuses it at home
Same age here and same story. One thing worth checking is timing. Daycare lunch for us is at 12 sharp, when he's hungry and not yet tired. Our dinner used to be at 8.30, when he was done with the day. Moving dinner to 7 made more difference than any change to the food.
2on Our older one has started sitting on her toys so her little sister can't reach them
From the other side: mine is the grabber at daycare. They use a sand timer for turns with the popular toys, and even the little ones get used to watching it. Doesn't stop the crying completely, but it gives everyone something to look at that isn't each other.
0on Caregiver gets our 4 month old to sleep in ten minutes. I take forty-five
Ask her to show you, as in stand there and watch. Ours had a specific hold, baby facing out, and a hum on one note that was just 'mmmm'. Felt silly copying it. Worked.
1on New boy in my son's class is visually impaired. My son wants to help and keeps getting it wrong
I'd give him the simplest rule: ask first, then do what he says. 'Want me to read that?' and if the answer is no, that's the answer. He's 12, he'll get it. The hurt feelings are the harder bit.
0on he knows the sound of my laptop shutting
Ha, ours learnt the last whistle of the pressure cooker. Food is coming, apparently, even when it's dal for the grown-ups 😂
0on Grandson wants to hold the neighbours' new baby every evening
Ha, this made me smile. When my son was tiny, the boy from the flat upstairs, maybe 8, used to come down just to check his fingers and toes were all still there. We let him hold him sitting on a mat on the floor, so there was nowhere to fall. Floor beats sofa.
4on Sibling of a current student, and still on the LKG waitlist in the last week of May
'Position will be confirmed' is such a school phrase 😂 Did they at least say whether siblings are ahead of new families on the list?
3on My 3 year old asked loudly at the park why a boy 'talks funny'. I froze
'Our discomfort turns it into something bigger.' Writing this down for when mine starts talking. He's only just started pointing at things, so I have a little time 😅
1on Cool breakfasts for a 2 year old who now pushes away anything warm
Room temperature uttapam, noted for next summer 😄 Ours is almost one and right now eats mostly whatever falls off my plate.
1on Number 9 on the LKG waiting list at the school we want. The other one wants our answer by Friday
Bit late to this, but I hope it worked out. A friend here in Bengaluru paid the first school and got her first choice two days later. She says she'd still do it the same way, because not sleeping for two days to save the fee wasn't worth it. We'll be in your shoes in a couple of years and I'm dreading it 😅
