1on Which outgrown baby things are fine to pass on, and which should just be thrown?
'Usable' needs a definition or you will never finish. Mine was: all parts present, no cracks, washes clean, and I would use it again myself. Anything that fails one goes to scrap, not to the watchman's family. Giving people broken things isn't kind just because it's free.
1on daughter's choosing between a master's abroad and one here, and i don't know what to ask
Agree. Ask for a sample timetable, not a brochure. My older girl is 17, and every brochure she has brought home already says the same thing.
0on Class 4 son had answers written on his palm in a class test. Teacher sent a note
Before you speak to him, find out what the school has already done. Paper taken back, a zero, a talk with the class teacher? If they've dealt with it, your part is the conversation, not a second punishment. And ask the teacher how many answers. "A few" could mean two or ten.
1on Do you take your 4 year old on school visits or go without her?
Take her at least once. From the school side, a visit is your best chance to watch how staff speak to a child who isn't performing, and a quiet child is useful for that. Notice who bends down to her level and who talks over her head to you.
Because a 50-minute van at 6.10 am is the real problem, not the board. Board matters far less in class 2 than people make out. The early days are a fair point, though; on those our caregiver would have to do the drop, which needs working out. Still looking for someone who has been inside the school.
3on school went 'no homework on weekends' and now weekdays are double
Double how? Time it for one full week, every subject, start and stop. If it really is past 9 every night, that's a number the school can't argue with. If it's two heavy nights and two light ones, that's a different conversation.
2on niece wants glasses with plain lenses because two of her friends wear them
Fair point about the fit. I'd add one condition for the niece: she pays part of it from her own money. You find out quickly how much she really wants them.
1on Bhavan's in Sainikpuri for class 2 next year, but first: what is junior dispersal like?
Some say it at enquiry if you ask directly. If you don't, you find out on the first day, in the car queue.
0on Four-week summer course in Bengaluru before college. She'd stay in a paying-guest place on her own
'Many years back' is the part I'd question. PGs for young women now range from very well run to a room above a shop. I'd want the owner's verification details, a visit or at least a video walk-through, and some idea of who the other girls are, students or working women. Food matters, but it isn't the first thing.
