6on caregiver puts her down for tummy time, grandmother picks her up within a minute
this is so true. my amma only ever agreed to things if she was the one doing them. worked for feeding too
2on 5 year old asked why her grandparents only live in the phone
We had a 'phone nani' phase around 5 too. What worked was making it a fixed thing, Sunday morning, and giving the call a job. My mother read her one story, same book every week, and kept the book at her end. Random calls never stuck. She's 12 now and messages her nani more than she messages me 🤷
1on 9 messages in the family group today, 3 about whether she needs a cap indoors
the monkey cap photo with no caption is peak family group 🤷
2on My 16 year old has decided she's making the Diwali snacks this year, and Ba is not pleased
the judge idea is lovely. My daughter is 12 and also wants to make sweets this year, might try this with my mother
1on When should the board exam accommodation paperwork start for a class 9 student?
Bookmarking. ICSE here and daughter's only 12, so no first-hand answer. At our school the counsellor handled this sort of thing for a classmate's family, not the class teacher. Maybe start there? 🤷
3on My son interviewed me for a class project on careers. I got 3 out of 5 for 'answers too long'
one sentence and one fun fact, that's what passes in middle school apparently. found that out at my daughter's science fair
0on found three test papers in her cupboard she never showed us. she's 12
The 17 being hidden too tells you it's not about the marks. Mine hides things when she expects a long conversation, not an angry one. Short is what she wants.
1on Is roadside bhutta okay for a 2 year old who asks for it every evening?
fwiw it comes out exactly the way it went in. don't panic at the next nappy change 🤷
0on He is learning English letters in school. Should I start Urdu letters at home now?
Not drilling is the part I'd underline. My daughter picked up her Hindi letters from shop signs on our walks more than from any book.
0on 16 yr old asked us not to put his class 10 results on the family group
His marks, his call 🤷 Tell the aunts 'he did well, ask him' and let them chase him.
2on 9 yr old wants tabla lessons. every teacher asks if we already have a tabla at home
We rented a keyboard for 3 months before buying, for my daughter. Ask the teacher if they know someone selling a used pair, ours knew 2 students who'd quit 🤷
1on Preschool shutting at the end of term, with every admission around us already closed
+1 on calling. Visiting eats half a day per place. Phone first, then visit only the ones who say maybe 🤷
1on Our daughter eats ragi mudde only if her ajji makes it. Same flour, same pan
Could be the water. My aunt uses slightly less and stirs for much longer than I do. Also, I suspect half the taste is that ajji made it.
0on Our 15 year old taught Ba to send voice notes. The family group may not survive it
my mom found voice notes last year and now sends recipes as audio. no quantities, just 'add enough' 🤷 good luck
