When should the board exam accommodation paperwork start for a class 9 student?

Older son is 14, in class 9, CBSE. His assessment was done last year and the school has been supportive with class tests. I've read that accommodations for the class 10 board exam need to be applied for well in advance. Nobody at school has mentioned it yet. Did your school ask for documents in class 9 or class 10, and who handled it?

  • Bookmarking. ICSE here and daughter's only 12, so no first-hand answer. At our school the counsellor handled this sort of thing for a classmate's family, not the class teacher. Maybe start there? 🤷

Good that you're asking now rather than in class 10 ❤️ I'd go to whoever coordinates board registrations at his school and ask two direct questions: which documents they need from you, and by when. Ask them to put the date in an email. And if he isn't already getting the same accommodations in school exams this year, ask for that too, so the board exam isn't the first time he's using them.

"Ask the coordinator" only works if the coordinator knows. Ask specifically who submits it to the board and what deadline they're working to. Our school gave three different answers to a much simpler board form last year.

Is there any parents group on the ECIL, AS Rao Nagar side for this kind of thing? Reading this, it seems many families are finding out alone.
