caregiver puts her down for tummy time, grandmother picks her up within a minute

daughter is 4 months. our caregiver does floor time on a mat every morning, and our paediatrician did tell us to do it. her grandmother can't watch her fuss on the floor, says it's getting cold now and picks her up. neither of them is wrong exactly now the caregiver has started doing it while grandmother is in the shower, which somehow feels worse. how did you get two people to agree on one thing without it becoming about who's in charge

The 'while grandmother is in the shower' part made me laugh, but I can see why it bothers you. When my son was a baby my mother was the same about floor time. What helped was not asking her to watch him cry. We put the mat next to her chair and made her the one doing tummy time, singing to him down at his level. She stopped picking him up because she was the one playing 🙂

this is so true. my amma only ever agreed to things if she was the one doing them. worked for feeding too

same fight in our house at 4 months, except it was me picking him up and my partner doing the floor time. i lost that argument after reading what the doctor had written down. maybe show both of them the same piece of paper, so it isn't the caregiver's word against grandmother's
