2on somewhere near begumpet for an 8 year old to learn to ride without training wheels
Ours is far too young for this, but I learnt late myself, at about 12. The uncle who taught me held the back of the seat, never the handlebar, and let go without telling me. I was halfway down the road before I noticed. It may be worth trying once she has some confidence.
6on Moving our 8 month old from our bed to his own cot. How did the first week go for you?
The side-by-side arrangement sounds sensible. Did you have any trouble with the gap between the two mattresses? That is the part I am unsure about.
3on Six months, rolling everywhere, and my mother says babyproofing is a modern invention
Did this early this morning, before the house was up. Found two coins under the sofa, a loose skirting board and a plug point behind the TV I'd forgotten existed. Short list, as you said.
2on At every check-up the paediatrician explains things to my mother, not to me
A written list suits me better than a confrontation. I'll try it at his six-month visit, and sit nearer the desk as well, since two people have suggested it. It's 3 am and he's awake, so I've had time to draft the list.
0on My mother insists on doing the night feeds so I can 'work'. She is exhausted and won't admit it
A schedule rather than an offer, that's the difference. I keep asking her if she wants a break, and of course she says no. I'll start with the weekend nights once evaluation is over and not make it a question.
On the point about the day before and after: my mother says the same of her own fasting at that age. I would add one thing. Ask the elder one why she wants to. In our family it was usually more about sitting with the grandmother than about the fast.
1on First progress report from daycare says our son is 'behind in social play'. Behind whom?
May I ask what the report looks like in detail? Our son is four months old and not in any daycare, so I'm curious whether these are written observations or a checklist.
3on Our 3 month old cries from 6 to 9 every evening, and my mother wants the drishti ritual done daily
Mostly the second, yes. And the smoke from burning chillies in a closed flat with a small baby. I don't mind the ritual, I just don't want us to stop trying other things because of it.
