2on Client walk-throughs are moving to 7 pm, and those evenings it's just me and my 4 year old
My son sat in a few client offices with me during his school years, back when that was rarer. Clients mostly liked having him there. I always mentioned it on the phone before arriving so nobody was surprised. That small courtesy did most of the work.
Same question was asked when calculators came. Arre, the point is learning to think in steps. Which language, which tool, doesn't matter.
Surma. My mother put it on him every evening till he was two, and we didn't have the heart to argue. He's 19 now and has no idea.
0on Does State Board make sense for class 1? Someone suggested Gowtham Vidyalaya in SR Nagar
My son was in State Board till class 10, then intermediate. Compared with his cousins in CBSE, the first few years felt about the same, just different books. Telugu was the subject that needed work at home, since we speak Hindi and Urdu. Worth asking how much Telugu starts in class 1.
2on Elder son is in CBSE, and the nursery closest to home is Krishnaveni Talent School, State Board
Also, with a maths teacher at home he won't fall behind in anything. Most families switching boards don't have that.

Close by at 3 is worth a lot. You can always shift him at class 1 or 3. The hours lost in traffic you don't get back.
0on Engineering counselling choice list this week. How many options did your child fill?
We did this two years ago. Son made his list, I made my own list, we argued for an evening and then used his, with five of mine added at the bottom. He got one of his. The five were never needed but I slept better.
2on Too hot to go out, and my 4 year old granddaughter is with me all day till July
Water play, yes. Also an old suitcase of clothes for dressing up. Our son wore my office ties for one whole summer, with his shorts.
In our family it was the same with my son and engineering. He is 20 now and doing what he chose. The relatives stopped once he was in college. Let the degree be hers.
0on admissions season at my school. every parent tour ends with 'and where do your boys study?'
Simple answer is best. Distance. Parents understand distance, they've all done the school run. My son's maths teacher sent her own children to a school near her house and none of us thought less of her for it.
3on Daughter wants to move to a 'dummy' school for class 12 to focus on coaching
That's the bit families don't hear from the coaching side. Our son's friends found out their practical dates a week before. Bahut tension tha.
0on Every cap and sunhat comes straight off her head. How do you keep anything on a toddler in May?
Our son was like this too. Bas, go out before seven or after five and forget the cap. The sun isn't going anywhere.
1on What should I be listening for when family praises pre-nursery at Academic Heights, Falaknuma?
Ask your cousin what the morning drop was like. Years ago with our son, the school itself was fine and the gate was chaos. My partner still talks about the gate, not the teachers.
We used a plain audio monitor for our son, years ago, and it did the job. If you want video, look for one that works on the local network without an account, and keep it on a separate guest network. Old habits from work 🙂
2on partner away 10 days in may and i'm on call half those nights. no family here
When our son was small, for one bad stretch we paid our day help extra to stay over, and a neighbour kept a spare key. It worked because the child already knew her well. Ask your nanny first, before any agency.
