1on my toddler's favourite outing is the JCB at the construction site down the road
The metro from an elevated walkway near a station works well. Ours loved the garbage truck most of all. We knew its timing for our lane and he'd be waiting at the gate every morning ❤️
2on Daycare wants a written weaning plan now that he's six months
That's what we did, though it was a while ago now. New foods only on weekends at home, so we were around if anything happened. Daycare got a list of things he'd already eaten three or four times without trouble. We kept that list on a sheet inside his bag and updated it every Monday ❤️
1on Helping our weekend driver with nursery admission at St.Dominics Savio High School
Maybe offer to go along the first time. The form itself isn't the difficult part. It's the conversation at the counter where people get nervous and forget to ask things. Once he's been once, he'll manage the rest himself.
4on A toddler at my branch today tried to deposit his biscuit at the cash counter
The letterbox! Ours pushed coins into the AC vent. We found out only when the technician came in summer and handed me eleven rupees.
0on he'll only eat the idli if he's holding a spare one in the other hand
Mine did this with dosa pieces. One to eat, one to guard. Years later he still takes two chapatis at a time ❤️
4on found three test papers in her cupboard she never showed us. she's 12
The 'she probably had a plan' line stayed with me. My son is 8 and he shows us everything for now, with commentary. Good to know what to listen for later.
1on Grandson now reads every shop board out loud on our morning walk
This made my morning. My son used to read the whole menu board at our tiffin centre aloud and then order the same idli every time. The shopkeeper clapping is the best part ❤️
3on My 2 year old now says 'bye nanna, go' before I've even got my shoes on
Ours did the same at that age. The protests came back around 5, once he understood that 'workshop day' meant I'd miss bedtime ❤️
0on School's reading assessment put my class 3 daughter at 'level D'. D of what?
Our son got a letter too, last year. It turned out to be a levelled reading scheme the school buys, and each letter is a band of books. What I didn't like was that he started calling himself 'a D reader'. I'd watch for that more than the letter itself.
0on Rockwell in Kokapet runs CBSE, IGCSE and IB. How does a family choose one for class 1?
We had a similar campus on our list when our son was starting class 1, and in the end chose a CBSE-only school closer to home. So I can't speak to Rockwell itself. The question I wish I had asked at the time: in which class do the tracks really separate, and after which class does moving across stop being practical? At five or six, the daily experience looked almost the same across boards to us. The differences showed up later.
1on Eggs for our toddler, when the person who cooks for her has never made one
We managed it the same way when our son was small. Grandparents' kitchen, grandparents' rules. Ours became the egg kitchen on weekends. He's in primary now and still thinks of Sunday omelettes as a treat.
