Grandson now reads every shop board out loud on our morning walk

Class 1, and the reading has suddenly clicked. Our walk to the park used to take ten minutes. Now it takes twenty-five, because every board on the road must be read aloud, slowly, with commentary. 'Phar-ma-cy' took four attempts. The man at the medical shop came out and clapped. 'Ten-der co-co-nut' was a big success. The board outside the wine shop, I walked him past rather quickly 🤷

Ours does this with number plates and hoardings from the back seat. We now know every jewellery shop slogan between home and school 🙂

mine read 'hot and cool drinks' at our bus stop every morning for a month and then wanted to know why the shop never had any cool drinks 🤷

my son read every sign out loud for about a year at that age. now he's a teenager and i get one-word answers. enjoy the commentary while it lasts

Ha, my son still does this. Push likha hai, pulls anyway. Some things reading doesn't fix 🙂

This made my morning. My son used to read the whole menu board at our tiffin centre aloud and then order the same idli every time. The shopkeeper clapping is the best part ❤️
