That's exactly our problem. My clinic runs a late session and I can't take calls between patients. So we use a message instead. The caregiver sends 'reached home' and I read it when I can. Not perfect. The one day it didn't come I panicked for twenty minutes before finding out her phone had died.

One thing from the skin side, since I see the results in clinic: when changes turn into a fight they get rushed, the skin doesn't get dried properly, and that's often when rashes start. We use the hall TV rule for our older one too. My partner's view, as a teacher, is that videos are fine for understanding, but the written answers still need the textbook's language because that's what gets marked. Worth checking her answers aren't drifting into the video's words.

Haven't been to that school myself, no details to offer there. One thing from our own search when the girls were small: we timed the commute at actual school hours, not on a Sunday drive. Yapral at 8.30 can be a very different place. If your partner's move isn't confirmed yet, are you choosing the area first and the school after? Or the other way round?

We don't have a grandparent at home, only the caregiver, and she isn't comfortable with English homework. That's partly why we're looking at a tutor. 'I check, I don't teach' is a good line though. Stealing it.

When you call, ask whether nursery finishes at the same time as the bigger classes. At my elder daughter's school the little ones were done at 12, and that changed our whole caregiver plan. Better to know before you sign a lease.
