When did you register at a hospital for the delivery? We haven't picked one yet

We go to a gynaecologist at a clinic near Kompally, and at the last visit she asked, almost in passing, which hospital we're planning to deliver at. We hadn't decided. She didn't mention a deadline, and I didn't think to ask. For those who've done this recently in Hyderabad: was there a point after which hospitals wouldn't take a booking, or is registration mostly about the package and the paperwork? I'd like to separate what is required from what relatives assume is required.

We're in Pune, so this may not carry over. Our hospital asked for registration around the halfway point so they had all the scan reports on file. It wasn't a hard cut-off, more of a 'please do it by then'.

Ours was six years ago, so things may have changed. The paperwork was easy, as I remember. The hard part was the distance. We chose a hospital near home over the one my doctor preferred, and on the night itself I was very glad.

Did yours want the registration done in person, or could it be done online?

One practical thing: check whether your current gynaecologist delivers at the hospital you pick. With our second we nearly booked a place where our doctor didn't attend deliveries, and only found out at the registration desk.
