Ha, the rattle. We dropped everything except bottles somewhere around 5 months, mostly because she started putting her own feet, the floor mat and my phone in her mouth anyway. Still boil the bottles. Our paediatrician said much the same as your partner, for what it's worth.

One practical point. We looked at daycares a few weeks ago for later on, and both wanted children to join at the start of a month and charged the full month either way. Worth checking before you discuss dates at home.

No toddler here, ours is our first, so I can't help with the main question. But my partner teaches, and she always says preschool teachers would much rather hear news like this from the parents than from a two year old at circle time 😄 So whenever you tell your daughter, tell her teacher the same day.

Tried the steel plates on Saturday. Twenty minutes is about right, she was thrilled. The downstairs neighbour, less so 😂 The carrying-and-naming one works too. She stares at the ceiling fan like it owes her money.
