2on Older one wants her door closed, the toddler wants to be in there all the time
Did knock-and-wait hold when you needed to check homework or screen time? That's the part I can't work out with my son. As soon as I knock for a reason, it feels like an inspection to him.

I checked after your comment, and you're right about English: about half of it is the textbook exercises word for word. That cuts it down a fair bit.

All seven subjects. Maths alone is 120 questions.
2on Partner's OPD days changed, and now we're both out on the same three days
I'd agree the helper is the harder route. From what friends here went through, everyone wants either full days or nothing. The daycare that collects is worth checking first.
2on Son has become the morning homework supplier on his school bus
Interesting. Not something I can ask the school for, but I may tell his class teacher the homework is being shared, without naming anyone. Still thinking about it.

I hadn't thought of that, that he could be the one in trouble. I suggested the explaining idea at dinner. He said there isn't time on the bus to explain, which may be true, and may also be the point.
3on Class 10 and she's got the maths teacher every senior warned her about
Is there someone she trusts who isn't a parent, an older cousin perhaps, who had a strict teacher and came through fine? From you it will sound like one teacher defending another, as you say. I don't have a teenager yet, so this is only from watching my nephews, but they listened to cousins far more than to any of us. Has she said what worries her most: the marks, or being singled out in class?
0on He is learning English letters in school. Should I start Urdu letters at home now?
We did English and Devanagari side by side when our son was about that age, because my mother-in-law wanted him reading Marathi. He mixed up a couple of shapes for a few weeks and then sorted it out on his own. Ten minutes a day with you, using it for something he likes (his name, a story you read together) worked much better for us than worksheets. How much Urdu does he speak already? I think that matters more than the script.
