Two pregnancy books in, and they disagree on almost everything
Partner reading one, me the other. Comparing notes at dinner = arguments. Caffeine, sleeping position, exercise, how much to eat, all different. Which one did you trust? Or neither 😅

i read one cover to cover and remember almost nothing from it now. the one-page sheet from the doctor's clinic stayed on our fridge for months
the fridge sheet is the only pregnancy document that was ever right in our house too. also the only one nobody paid for

Ours was on the fridge too. The one thing I'd add: write questions down as they come up and take the list to every appointment. You forget all of them the minute you sit down in front of the doctor.
We had the same dinner fights. Ended up with the doctor as tie-breaker for anything medical and my amma as tie-breaker for food, which created its own problems 🙂
they disagree because the evidence on half of those things is thin. caffeine and sleeping position, ask her doctor directly. the rest is mostly the author's opinion
Check when each one was published. One of ours turned out to be a reprint of something written in the nineties, and it showed.
One practical point: if your partner has any existing condition, the general books won't cover it properly. Ask her doctor which one they point patients to. Most of them have a favourite.
Disagree how? 'A little caffeine is fine' versus 'none at all' is a real difference. 'Walk thirty minutes' versus 'stay active' is the same advice in different words.
One book and my mother, that was our set-up. Mother won most arguments. Still does, and that baby starts college soon 😄
Keep going
