Built a shared folder for all my son's medical records. The clinic wanted the paper card.

Spent two weekends sorting our 10 month old's reports, prescriptions and vaccine records into one shared folder, everything named by date, so whoever takes him to an appointment can find anything in seconds. Today was his first visit since. The nurse asked for the vaccination card. The printed one. It was in the drawer at home, exactly where I'd put it after scanning it. Showed her the scan. She wrote today's entry on a slip and told me to staple it into the card. So the folder is complete and the card now has a staple.

Keep the card in the baby bag permanently. Scan it for backup, but the original travels. Fifteen years on, clinics still ask for paper.

This. Ours lived in a zip pouch in the nappy bag along with the insurance card and never came out. The one time it did, for photocopying, it went missing for a month :)

      Replying to @umber_bookmark_8866

Card is in the bag now. The folder stays too, mostly for my pride.
