6on Preschool calls at 11 to say she has a temperature. Who leaves work, and how do you decide?
If you decide during the call, it will always be whoever's meeting sounds less important, and that is usually the same person. Fix it by weekday in advance. Monday and Wednesday you, Tuesday and Thursday your partner, Friday whoever. Swap when you must, but start from the rule.
Agree with the short version. I'd add one line: if you are not sure what is wrong, call the doctor before you come to the shop. A counter at midnight is not where that should get worked out, and from what you've written you already know that.
2on Daughter's first salary lands this month. Do we ask her to contribute at home?
Son started earning from a part-time role this year. We asked for nothing and asked him to tell us what he saves each month. He tells us. That's been enough for now.
1on Two pregnancy books in, and they disagree on almost everything
Disagree how? 'A little caffeine is fine' versus 'none at all' is a real difference. 'Walk thirty minutes' versus 'stay active' is the same advice in different words.
6on Too early to visit Siva Sivani Talent School in KPHB when our son isn't one yet?
It's not odd, just not very useful. Teachers change, timings change, sometimes the whole nursery section moves. What you see now won't be what he gets. Go the year before you apply.
2on I teach languages all day. Our 2 month old says 'aaghoo' and I reply in full paragraphs
Keep the paragraphs. Talking to her is talking to her. The comprehension questions can wait a few years.
1on class 12 son's answer to 'what next' is still 'something with computers, but not coding'
What does he actually do on a computer when nobody asks him to? That's your answer, not the label he gives relatives.
0on Our owner has said no screws in the walls. What held up for you without them?
Pressure gates move. Ours walked a few inches every time someone leaned on it. Fine for slowing a crawler down, not something I'd trust at the top of stairs.
Halfway is sensible. But who is deciding this? Twelve year olds with a strong friendship usually find a way, and the ones that fade tend to fade whatever the parents arrange. Ask your son what he'd do if Saturdays don't work out, before building a driving schedule around it.
