my aunt is coming down from mysuru after the baby arrives and keeps sending photos of what she's packing. hand-stitched jablas, cotton nappies, tiny caps, a little silver bangle set. we've already bought most of these, in a panic around month six. i don't think i'll say anything. hers will probably get used more than ours anyway. it's just a bit funny looking at the cupboard right now.

Same story with my ma, she came from Kolkata with kanthas and a suitcase full of jamas, and I'd already bought everything. Hers were softer and got washed a hundred times, mine are still in the packet 🙂 Let her bring, it makes her happy na.

use hers at home, yours for going out. everyone happy. ours was the opposite, mil's things were too fancy to actually use haha

Before she arrives, check which of yours are still returnable. When my son was born we sent back a whole box of unopened newborn sets once the family things came in. They outgrow that size in a few weeks anyway ❤️

most of the receipts are somewhere in my email. a job for this weekend, before the cupboard gets any fuller.
