Reading this with some dread. My daughter is 2 and I've already been added to a "preschool admissions 2027" group. Is it acceptable to just leave these groups? Or do you end up missing the actual dates?

We're the opposite, Urdu and Hindi at home and wondering how our daughter will manage Telugu at school later. Did your daughter's nursery do anything to help with the home language, or did she just pick things up?

Took your advice and asked at daycare on Friday. One mother sends her 3 year old by van and likes the driver, but he doesn't take children under two. So the scooter run stays for now and I've pushed my early calls to 9.15. I'll ask again next year ❤️

1·17 Jun 2026·on Daycare plays rhymes on a TV during lunch. We don't do screens at home with our 1 year old

Ours does the same at snack time, and I worried too. What I noticed is that she now asks for 'rhymes' when we put her in the high chair at home. So it does carry over a bit. I asked if they could play only the audio, and they agreed for a week, then the screen went back on. I've let it go for now.

That's a lovely idea. There are at least two other Urdu-speaking families in our block. I might just put a note up by the lift.
