Do any of the vans on the Siddartha High School run in Secunderabad also take toddlers to daycare?

We live a couple of lanes from Siddartha High School, and every morning the school vans line up outside it while I'm strapping my daughter onto the scooter for daycare. She's not quite two. Daycare is about 2 km away and the 8.30 drop keeps colliding with my early calls. It crossed my mind that one of those drivers might do a second run to the daycare after the school drop. Does anyone with a child at Siddartha know whether the van drivers there take little ones on the side? Or is a van simply a bad idea at her age and I should stop thinking about it?

Speaking as a teacher, not about that school: at most schools these vans are private arrangements between the driver and the parents, and the office has very little to do with them. So ask the drivers directly, around dispersal time when they're waiting. And look at whether there's an attendant at all. That's usually the real question 🙂

Ask the other parents at your daycare before you ask any driver. If one of them already uses a van, you'll hear about him from someone with no reason to oversell him.

Took your advice and asked at daycare on Friday. One mother sends her 3 year old by van and likes the driver, but he doesn't take children under two. So the scooter run stays for now and I've pushed my early calls to 9.15. I'll ask again next year ❤️

At her age I'd be wary of any van without a proper seat for her and a lady attendant whose job is to hold the small ones. School vans are set up for five year olds who can sit and hold on. If you do go ahead, ride along once yourself. That said, plenty of families on our side use them from about three ❤️

We rented right next to a school in Marredpally for two years. A couple of the drivers there did run a second round to playschools after the main drop, so it's not unheard of. What we didn't like was the timing: the second round started whenever the first one finished. 8.40 one day, 9.15 the next. Not a dealbreaker for everyone, just something to know ❤️

The second-round timing, ayyo yes. Our girls' van did the same for years and the little ones' run was always the late one. Fine for school, not so fine if you have a call at 9 🙂

Our son went in a van from 3. Under 2 we didn't even consider it. Still worth it later ha
