Our toddler will only drink water from my glass. Her own sipper goes straight on the floor

I'm worried she isn't drinking enough in this heat. At daycare they say she drinks from a small steel cup while the teacher holds it. At home she refuses the sipper, refuses the straw bottle, and climbs into my lap to drink from whatever I'm holding, which goes everywhere. Should I just give her a small open cup at home too? Or is it the 'mamma's glass' part she wants?

Ours went through the same thing. What helped was a small steel tumbler that looked exactly like mine, only smaller, filled a little at a time so the spills stayed small. He still prefers mine when he sees it, so I've started drinking from a bottle in front of him. It means more mopping for a while, but he drinks more.

A matching tumbler worked in our house too, with our younger one. What made it stick was keeping it in the same spot on a low shelf so he could reach it himself. Once it was his to pick up, the interest in my glass faded.
