Telugu at home, Urdu and Hindi in our lane. What do nursery children speak in class at Image School?

We live in Tolichowki and Image School is close, which matters because I do pickups after my theatre lists. Our son is at daycare now, so this is for nursery in a year or so. At home we speak Telugu and some English. Around us it's mostly Hindi and Urdu, and he already uses a few words of both. I'm curious what language the teachers use with the little ones in nursery, and whether kids from Telugu homes settle in fine. Not worried exactly, just trying to picture his day ❤️

Children that age pick up whatever is spoken around them. Our daughter came home from nursery with words we had never used at home ❤️ The question I would ask the school is a small one: what language do the teachers use when a child is upset or needs the toilet? That is the moment it actually matters.

  the toilet question is a good one. my son only knew how to ask in telugu and his first nursery teacher didn't understand him for about a week. nobody had thought to check

  We're the opposite, Urdu and Hindi at home and wondering how our daughter will manage Telugu at school later. Did your daughter's nursery do anything to help with the home language, or did she just pick things up?
