Is it reasonable to take a baby along on a short site visit, with the caregiver waiting in the car?

2on First long work trip since my daughter started school. How do you prepare a 6 year old?
A fixed call time only works if it is realistic with the time difference. Singapore is two and a half hours ahead, so a call at her 8 pm is 10.30 pm for you, after what may be a long day. Pick the slot you can keep on your busiest day, not the one that sounds nicest now.
3on 5 year old asked why her grandparents only live in the phone
Did the story calls hold her attention at 5? Mine is one and loses interest in the screen within a minute, so I'm curious when that changes.
1on Parents picked a class outing venue with steps everywhere, and one classmate uses a wheelchair
One thing from my work: venues often describe themselves as accessible because there is a ramp at the entrance. That tells you nothing about the paths inside, the toilets or the dining area. If you speak to them, ask for photos of the actual route the children would take, rather than accepting a yes on the phone.
Keep it short or nobody will read it. Three lines: a working thermometer, the dose your paediatrician wrote down for your child's weight stuck somewhere visible, and the after-hours number. Everything else on a longer list is what people end up buying at 11 pm anyway.
2on My 7 year old's best friend stammers. Should she be finishing her words for her?
No experience of this as a parent, but I had a classmate who stammered all through school. What I remember is that the friends she liked best were the ones who simply waited. Not the ones who rushed in, and not the ones who made a big show of being patient either. Your daughter asking the question at all says a lot.
3on Mid-year class 3 admission at Kakatiya Techno Schools in Moula Ali, coming from Kerala
No idea about this particular school, but for any mid-year move from another state, I would ask them specifically what the transfer certificate needs. Some schools want it countersigned by the education office in the previous state, and that can take weeks if you only find out in November. Also ask whether they want the class 3 report card from the old school, or only the TC. Better to bring both.
4on On stage at my school on Independence Day while my daughter performs at hers
What does she say she wants? I'd separate 'my mother is there' from 'someone is there for me'. They are different asks.
3on LB Nagar to the Hafeezpet side next year? Weighing Maples for our son's class 6
Can't help with Maples itself. One practical point, since pickup would be yours: I drive through Hafeezpet for site visits, and the main road there is slow around school dismissal, more so when it rains. Before you commit to a flat, do the pickup route at 3 pm on a weekday.
0on How long is the pre-nursery day at Pallavi International in Attapur? We'd need a daycare after
Not about this school, but on the afternoon gap: when I asked around for our son, most families with two working parents used a daycare for the afternoons anyway, and the school pickup became the daycare's job. The question I'd ask any daycare is how they handle the odd days, when school lets out at 11 for a test or an event and nobody tells the daycare.
0on The 3 year old now uses her brother's full name, in my exact 'you're in trouble' voice
We only have a baby so far, and I'm already paying attention to which voice I use around the house. Apparently all of it gets recorded.
Most of the open space in the newer parts of the city sits inside gated communities. Some societies let non-residents use their ground if a resident vouches for them. It may be worth asking parents at his school which societies have a ground and an easygoing committee, rather than looking for a public one.
3on Paying for our caregiver's spoken English class, and whether it should come out of work hours
I like the daily practice, but I'd be careful about the children becoming the teachers. If your older one is already correcting her, making that official could tip the balance at home. We pay for our caregiver's tailoring class on Sunday mornings. Her time, our money, nobody at home involved. That separation has kept it simple.
