Mid-year class 3 admission at Kakatiya Techno Schools in Moula Ali, coming from Kerala

maple_notebook_9603

My sister and her family are moving from Kerala to the Moula Ali side in November because of her husband's transfer. Their elder one is in class 3 in a Kerala state board school, the younger is in UKG. She wants me to dig around since I'm already in Hyderabad, though we're in Bachupally, which is nowhere near. Kakatiya Techno Schools in Moula Ali is one she shortlisted. Does anyone know if they take children mid-year, and what paperwork a family coming from another state should have ready? Any experience of moving mid-year from another state board would also help her a lot ❤️

No idea about this particular school, but for any mid-year move from another state, I would ask them specifically what the transfer certificate needs. Some schools want it countersigned by the education office in the previous state, and that can take weeks if you only find out in November. Also ask whether they want the class 3 report card from the old school, or only the TC. Better to bring both.

Yes, start the TC paperwork early. Also, Uppal side here, we came from Kerala too, many years ago. Tell your sister to find the local Malayali association once she's settled. That's how we found our doctor, our tailor and most of what we needed in the first year.

This is so true. For us it was the Odia families' group near our area. It was more useful than any website for the first year.

Adding to this, she should ask about the second language. I believe Telugu is compulsory in Telangana schools now, so a child coming in class 3 from Kerala may need extra help with it. Worth asking what support the school gives for that.

Kapra side here, close to Moula Ali. I'm not a parent yet so I don't know about the school, but if your sister is renting, tell her to ask about water supply in the building before signing. Some apartments around ECIL depend on tankers in summer. My husband and I learnt that the hard way.
